The TRUE Zero Waste Rating System is an assessor-based certification and credentialing system. Designed to help facilities achieve the goal of diverting all solid waste from landfills, TRUE Zero Waste contributes to the goal of developing a circular economy in which the waste of resources is designed out of any system by focusing on facilities and their operations. The TRUE Zero Waste Rating System helps facilities achieve zero waste goals, cut their carbon footprint, and support public health by using a variety of strategies which include redesign, reduce, reuse, re-earth, recycle, and diversion. This course reviews the origins of TRUE, certification requirements and levels, the rating system process, and the relationship to LEED.
