All of our materials are available online, over the computer. We do not send a hard copy of any of our material, however you are able to download and print the flash cards and study guides, if you would like. All of our exam prep courses can be viewed online; and audio-only mp3 files can be downloaded.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE EXAM PREP MATERIAL?
Depending on which Exam Prep Membership option you signed up for you would either have 1 or 2 year access from the date of purchase.
WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD FOR STUDYING?
We suggest you follow the road map that is included in your study package.
HOW MUCH DOES THE LEED EXAM COST?
The LEED Green Associate exam costs $200 for USGBC members, or $250 for non-members. The LEED AP exams each cost $250 for USGBC members, or $350 for non-members. It is possible to take the LEED Green Associate and one LEED AP exam together. This combined exam costs $400 for USGBC members, or $550 for non-members.
*If you are a veteran of the United States military, you are eligible for 100% reimbursement for any LEED exam. The Veterans Administration recommends following the following steps:
- Register for the exam and take the test.
- Fill out this form, and send the form with a copy of your receipt for the exam (available in your usgbc.org profile under “Orders”), and a signed, dated statement authorizing the release of your exam scores to the VA at the address on the form listed above.
- It will take 4-12 weeks to process.

ARE THERE ANY TEST TAKING STRATEGIES?
Yes. We recommend reading them before you take the mock exams. They are located towards the end of this study guide.
IS MEMORIZATION NEEDED FOR THE LEED or WELL EXAM?
Yes, but it’s not memorization alone. Information is hard to remember if it does not make sense. So you need to understand what you are trying to learn and relate it to things you already know from the guide or your current knowledge.
ARE THERE CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) REQUIREMENTS FOR THESE CREDENTIALs?
Yes. WELL APs have to complete 30 hours of CE in a 2 year reporting cycle. 6 of those 30 hours have to be WELL specific. A WELL specific course would have an explicit connection to the WELL rating system.
LEED APs have to complete 30 hours of CE in a 2 year reporting cycle. 6 of those 30 hours have to be LEED specific. A LEED specific course would have an explicit connection to the LEED rating system.
Green Associates have to complete 15 hours of CE in a 2 year reporting cycle. 3 of those 15 hours have to be LEED specific. A LEED specific course would have an explicit connection to the LEED rating system.
HOW MUCH DOES THE WELL AP EXAM COST?
For USGBC or ASID members, LEED APs and LEED Green Associates the WELL AP exam costs $465, for other professionals who do not qualify for the “affiliates” pricing listed above the exam costs $660.
