Project Controls
Whether it’s a green building project in San Francisco, a refinery project in Houston, or an infrastructure project in New York City, the importance of planning and scheduling is pivotal for the successful implementation and timely completion of projects.
The $1 trillion infrastructure bill passed in Nov 2021 is the largest infusion of federal investment into infrastructure projects in the United States, touching nearly every facet of the American economy. With more projects, come new job opportunities across the board, including the planning sector.
Interested in project controls and how it intersects with sustainability? Join us live online or watch our intro course on-demand about project controls where we discuss the role of scheduling in project management, understand the important of creating a schedule, and analyze how it intersects with the sustainability goals of a project. We will identify scheduling tools and highlight the use of Oracle Primavera P6 as a scheduling tool. Together, we will explore job opportunities in scheduling and discuss advanced GBRI training for project control professionals.
Energy Modeling
Energy modeling or energy simulation is the process of using computer programs to model or simulate the energy performance of buildings or systems within. Green building professionals perform energy-modeling using different programs such as eQuest, carrier HAP, Trace 700, and more, to analyze various energy conservation measures and to make accurate energy-saving decisions on a building. Curious about how it works and whether this is right for you? GBRI has an intro course on Energy Modeling, as well as an advanced course in partnership with energy-models.com.
Join us as presenter Bob Fassbender, LEED AP BD+C, Trace 700 Instructor, and co-founder of Energy-Models, shares the top 14 things all building professionals need to know about energy modeling. We will review everything from “What is energy modeling?” to “What an energy model looks like?” and more. This course also reviews what you can expect is terms of savings and how energy models may help you get your building LEED-certified.
